Millwood Hospital provides various options of care to help people of all ages. Many times, problems can be addressed in a less restrictive environment.

All referrals begin with a no cost evaluation by a qualified mental health professional. The mental health assessment concludes with recommendations for treatment.

Access Center

Millwood Hospital has several access center locations — some open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — staffed with therapists, psychiatric nurses.

Our access centers provide:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Confidential assessments
  • Referrals and admissions
  • Psychiatric consultations
  • Behavioral consultations
  • Chemical dependency consultations
  • Mental health information
  • Substance use information

Mental Health Assessment Process

Following the assessment, the staff of each access center will make referrals for outpatient, partial hospital or inpatient care based on individual treatment needs.

Our access centers can also help families determine the financial resources available for health care costs.

Referral Relations

The Millwood services team views our patient care efforts as an extension of the professional community. We correspond with referral sources from the initial communication, through treatment and discharge and into aftercare. Our system makes it convenient for the professional community to access our services, as we manage clinical information in a confidential but appropriate manner when communicating with other healthcare professionals.
