Millwood Hospital offers a comprehensive continuum of care for children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults with psychiatric or substance use problems. A multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals provides 24-hour mental health treatment and supervision in a structured environment for patients who need intensive chemical dependency or behavioral therapy. Ongoing care is provided through discharge planning to facilitate a successful adjustment back to daily activities.

Therapy groups are offered to identify, discuss and explore new ways of addressing problems and specialized groups are designed to meet the specific needs of each patient type. Additionally, Millwood Hospital offers a TEA-accredited school for children who are currently enrolled in elementary through high school.

The Excel Centers provide short-term outpatient treatment for all ages — children, adolescents, adults and senior adults.

Senior patients have special psychiatric needs due to the challenges of aging with declining mental and physical health. Millwood Hospital has a 14-bed unit offering individualized treatment, including holistic mind-body care, music therapy and recreation therapy. This specialized care for seniors provides certified nursing assistant care and medication management.
