Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Partial Hospitalization for Children, Teens and Adults

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provides participants with structured group therapy and education, as well as weekly individual and family therapy sessions. Patients are seen by a psychiatrist two times a week for medication management.

Mental health treatment is provided in an interdisciplinary manner, utilizing licensed therapists, a nurse and a physician. In determining treatment goals, the patient is considered a part of the team. A psychiatrist is the leader of the treatment team and oversees all aspects of treatment.

A PHP program is perfect for those seeking treatment for the first time, those stepping down from inpatient treatment or those stepping up from Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP).

Millwood Hospital provides mental health partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents and adults.

Adult PHP from Millwood Hospital

The adult partial hospitalization program from Millwood Hospital allows patients to receive therapy and treatment during the day and return home at night. Traditionally, PHP is a full-time day program that takes place Monday through Friday from about 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Time spent at our adult PHP for mental health issues or a co-occurring substance use disorder.

PHP for Children and Adolescents

PHP for Teens is different from PHP for adults in that it takes into account the specific and unique needs of young people. Their challenges are different from those of an adult, and we understand and adapt to that.

The team at Millwood Hospital is here to help your loved one with mental health services from our outpatient treatment program.
